If you are pondering on what to do this May Day long weekend, then look no further.

The 2010 BHP Billiton Cannington Richmond Fossil Festival promises to be a memorable fun filled weekend for all ages. In Richmond an ancient world awaits you to discover! Get a glimpse into the prehistoric past, as the world was 100 million years ago during the cretaceous period, when Richmond was submerged under the vast Ancient Inland Sea.

The foundation of this town is built on providing a unique glimpse into the prehistoric past, as the world was 100 million years ago during the cretaceous period. Richmond tells the story of when this region was submerged under the vast Ancient Inland Sea.

In that sea lived a variety of all creatures great and small, whose remains have provided us with perhaps the finest fossils found anywhere on earth.

You are invited to share the wonder at this year's Fossil Festival, celebrating Richmond's Unique Fossil Heritage.

Activities include dinosaur tours, prehistoric cartoon workshops, fossil preparation and sculpture workshops, rodeo, camel races, moon rock throwing and loader pull competitions, bush poetry, the hole in one golf challenge and for the car enthusiasts a show and shine.
