Getting Here Getting Here

There are so many ways to get to Richmond - regardless of whether you want to take the wheel, or sit back and enjoy the ride.

Self Drive

While some may think the Outback is strictly four wheel drive material - it's not. Major highways such as the Matilda Highway and Overlander's Way are fully sealed and the accommodation is as varied as it is comfortable. If you're on the caravan journey of a lifetime, you will be pleased to know nearly all towns have caravan parks.

Rail

One way to start a perfect Outback adventure is aboard one of Queensland Rail's Inlander trains. The 10 hour trip will have you passing through all the towns between Townsville and Mt Isa with Richmond being about halfway from either destination. There are two departures per week. For rail only bookings phone 132 232 or visit www.traveltrain.com.au.

Coach

Greyhound Australia services all towns along the Overlander's Way between Townsville & Mt Isa with connection to the Northern Territory seven days a week. For more information call 13 20 30 or visit www.greyhound.com.au .

Air

Enjoy the spectacular views of Outback Queensland from the air with one of our Fossil Festival Sponsors REX Regional Express.  Flights operate between Townsville and Mount Isa stopping at Richmond three day's week Monday, Wednesday & Friday. For Schedules and Fares Call 1317 13 or visit www.rex.com.au
