Guided tour of Hampstead Station homestead, property and natural spring oasis where you will learn of the history and geological formations that make our region what it is today When: Thursday 29th April or Monday 3rd May Bookings Essential Fossil Hunting ToursCome along and join the crew at Kronosaurus Korner and experience an exciting fossil hunt. You will be taken to a secret fossil hunting site where a unique environmental phenomenon had collected a large number of bones, teeth and coprolites (fossilised poo). Fossil hunters will also learn about the environment and sediments that preserved these bones 100 million years ago. Experts from Kronosaurus Korner will take fossil hunters to 1 of 2 profound fossil hunting sites where many fine examples of marine fossil have been found. Fossil hunters will be taught how to clean, prepare and display their fossil as a museum professional would. Workshop students are encourage to go fossil hunting at the public site prior to the workshop. If you have not found a suitable fossil KK will supply you with one. Full Day TourFossil Hunting Trip Full day tour, involves a visit to a dig site, a presentation by a palaeontologist about the formation of fossils and the unique fauna of the Richmond Region. The afternoon will be spent in the lab preparation techniques - learning how to prepare and extract the fossils. When: Thursday 29th April or Sunday 2nd May Bookings Essential Half Day TourFossil Hunting Trip Includes a presentation and a guided tour through Dead Dingo Quarry where you can hunt for your own fossil and be shown how to prepare them in the field.
