Councillor Joan Harris was re-elected for her third term on Council in March 2008. Originally elected in the 1997 General Elections.  Cr Harris represents Council on the Local Chaplaincy Committee and Regional Arts & Development Fund Committee (RADF), Kronosaurus Korner Board Inc (Management Committee), Tropical Health Queensland Healthy Communities Advisory Committee, Local Government Women's Assocaition, North Queensland Local Government Association.

Cr Harris lives in the township of Richmond and operates her own business with husband Ian – Richmond Motors.
